Masks optional

To our community,

On behalf of the Minot-Sleeper Library staff and Board of Trustees, I wish to thank all who have borrowed books curbside, visited the library to use a computer, attended a book discussion, or utilized the library in other ways over the past 15 months and followed the safety precautions in place.

This letter serves as notice that the library’s mask requirement is now lifted. The library Board of Trustees voted last April to require all staff and patrons to wear a face covering while in the building, so long as the Covid-19 pandemic is still considered a public health emergency by government officials. This was done for the well-being of our entire community. With improved health conditions, and the expiration of Governor’s Sununu Emergency Order on Friday, June 11, patrons and staff will no longer be required to masks inside the building. Staff and patrons may continue to wear masks and we ask for the community’s acceptance of their decision to do so.

Health professionals recommend that those who have not been vaccinated for Covid-19 continue to wear masks and socially distance in public space, such as the library. We encourage all who visit the library to follow this guidance for the safety of themselves and others.

The staff and trustees wish to extend our gratitude to the community for their support during the recent months. Your cooperation as observed in the acts of mask wearing and respect of social distancing reflects your commitment to the health and safety of our families, friends and neighbors and has been greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Brittany Overton
Director, Minot-Sleeper Library
