Dear Newfound Area Community,
The Minot-Sleeper Library staff and trustees are hopeful that all in our community are weathering the upheaval that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused for all of us. We also want to provide an update on library services.
Over the past two weeks the library's operations have evolved as we learn more about the situation we are in. When we first closed our doors, we were still emptying the book drop and disinfecting for possible re-circulation; we put donated books outside our front entrance for the community to take. Due to the continued and increased severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have adjusted our services to ensure our community members and staff are healthy and safe. The staff will not be in the library during normal hours. We are no longer accepting returns and we are no longer having staff go to the library to put free books outside. Please hold on to any library materials you have until the library reopens. This doesn't mean our service to the community has come to a standstill. In fact, just the opposite.
Governor Chris Sununu has issued a stay-at-home order, with all non-essential businesses closing by end of day Friday, March 27. The library is creating new ways to deliver informational, educational, and cultural resources. We have started posting story time videos on Facebook and on our website, we are hosting community conversations through virtual meet-ups, we have compiled a list of ways to travel to museums, national parks, and art galleries from a computer. Information on how to access these resources can be found at minotsleeperlibrary.org. We will be offering much more of this type of service and diversifying it in the next couple of weeks. Even though we will be at our own homes, library staff will continue to be a friendly and helpful voice when you call the library at 603-744-3352 during our normal hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10am-6pm; Tuesday and Thursday 1-8pm; and Saturday 10am-2pm.
The library staff is here for each and every person in our community. We hope you will reach out to us and find the online services of value. If there is something you would like us to offer that we are not already, please send me an email at [email protected] or call 603-744-3352. To keep up to date on the library's current offerings, please check our website: minotsleeperlibrary.org, follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/minotsleeperlibrary and check the Town of Bristol's COVID-19 updates: https://www.townofbristolnh.org/home/news/covid-19-updates-resources-community-members.
