Patron Eligibility
Home delivery service will be provided to cardholders who are residents of Bristol, Alexandria, Bridgewater, Danbury, Hebron, Hill, Groton, and New Hampton and who are not able to come to the library. “Homebound” is defined as being generally confined to the residence either temporarily, due to illness or accident, or permanently, due to age, disability or other mobility problems.
Library Card Registration
Homebound patrons may call the library: 603-744-3352 to register for a library card if they do not already have one. When registering for a new card or renewing an existing card, patrons will be asked to provide their name, mailing address, delivery address, phone number, and email if available.
Requesting Materials
Home delivery patrons may place requests, schedule a delivery or return, and ask for reading suggestions by contacting the library by phone: 603-744-3352 or email: [email protected]. The number of items checked out may not exceed 15 at any one time.
Delivery Schedule
Materials will be delivered by a Minot-Sleeper Library volunteer. When materials are delivered, items from the previous delivery must be ready for the volunteer to return them to the library. Patrons who wish to keep certain items longer than the 2-week loan period should notify the library by phone: 603-744-3352 or email: [email protected]. Pickup and delivery will be at the convenience of the volunteer, while taking into account the needs of the patron.
Overdue
Although Minot-Sleeper Library does not charge fines for materials that are returned late, we encourage the timely return of materials so other patrons may have the opportunity to enjoy the same materials. The library’s policy for damaged or lost items will apply.
Renewals
Home delivery patrons may request an extension of the 2-week loan period by phone: 603-744-3352, email: [email protected], or by accessing their patron account at https://minotsleeper.nhais.bywatersolutions.com/. Some limitations apply to renewals.
Environment Required for Delivery
Patrons requesting homebound services must provide a safe and appropriate environment for the volunteers who make deliveries to their homes. A designated area which is clean, easily accessible and protected from the elements for delivered items to be dropped off must be available. Patrons are responsible for the safekeeping of all library materials while in their possession. Volunteers may choose not to arrive at a property, to leave a property immediately, and/or recommend suspension of the service if any of the following conditions exist:
• Pets are not confined (with the exception of service animals trained to assist a disabled person).
• There is not a clear and safe path to the home, with snow shoveled and ice removed.
• Any person in the home presents threatening behavior or otherwise places a volunteer at risk.
The Library does not discriminate in the delivery of its services because of age, sex, color marital status, familial status, physical or mental disability, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical condition, genetic status, veteran status or any other legally protected status.
Other Library policies and procedures may apply, as applicable.
