Rewilding
Town of Bristol, NH Sustainability Committee member Jamie Bemis shares with us some background on the practice of “rewilding” - the intentional process of restoring native plants in our landscapes to provide food for pollinators and wildlife habitat. She then takes us on a tour of two rewilding projects in and around Bristol. Let's Talk Trash
For this month's Locally Produced series on sustainable living, the library and Bristol's Sustainability Committee invite the community to join us for a conversation about trash, waste management, and other aspects of waste management. The conversation will host local and state leaders who are helping to divert unnecessary waste from the trash stream and bring back recycling to our town. Eating Environmentally-Friendly
Minot-Sleeper Library Director and member of Bristol's Sustainability Committee Brittany Overton shares how we can think about our grocery shopping, preparation of what we consume, and how we store and discard our food to reduce the amount of waste we create. It can save us all money, too! Join the Minot-Sleeper Library and the Bristol Sustainability Committee on Monday, November 30 at 6:30pm on Zoom for a conversation about eating sustainably. Town of Bristol Sustainability Committee member Jamie Bemis talks about solar energy. She explains how solar energy works, the material used in a solar panel, how they can be installed, and metering. Jamie explains how solar can benefit individuals and the Bristol community at large. She shares how to get involved with solar energy, whether it is at their own home, through community power initiatives, and through local municipal projects. Zero Waste 101
What is Zero Waste and how can you start to reduce the amount of waste in your own home? Lauren Therriault, Secretary for Town of Bristol, NH Sustainability Committee introduces the idea of Zero Waste. She offers suggestions for small and easy changes you can make in your own home and in the workplace for reducing the amount of trash you create.
